See & Do

Typical classic victorian era house with NGK in background

In order to appreciate much of the history and architecture of Aberdeen, may we recommend our free town walking tours.

To arrange this please drop by our office at 23 Brand Street (ABC Bookshop, close to the library), open Mon – Fri 9.30am – 12.30pm, Sat 9.30am -4pm

Tours can accommodate up to 6 persons and are accompanied by one of our knowledgeable volunteers, all of whom are long term Aberdeen residents.

‘Must see’ items in Aberdeen include the Church Panels at the Kerkstal, the Ostrich Palaces, the Magistrate’s Court & Post Office, the Cemetery (with Boer War graves) and the olive tree in the grounds of the NGK, grown from a cutting taken from the Garden of Gethsemane.

If you are looking for more physical activities – how about a round of golf (desert course), play lawn bowls or a farm visit ?
